OPTIMIZE HEATING & COOLING EFFICIENCY WITH SOLAR-ASSISTED HEAT PUMPS
Traditional electric heat pumps can use electricity generated from renewable sources but may need a boost in colder winter climates.
Recent advances in cold climate heat pumps (CCHP) have improved heating season performance but still benefit from auxiliary heating in colder weather, generally using one of two relatively expensive sources:
- Electric resistance heating (primarily in residential applications)
- Fossil fuel combustion (primarily in commercial/industrial applications)
